Microsoft revealed on Monday that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be launching on Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, along with two additional Call of Duty games arriving later this month.

According to the company’s blog, Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming starting at 10 AM PT on October 25. On the same day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone will also become playable via the cloud for Game Pass Ultimate members. This is a milestone for the Call of Duty series, as it's the first time a title in the franchise will debut on Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch, following Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Interestingly, Microsoft had to sell the cloud gaming rights for Activision titles to Ubisoft in order to gain approval for the Activision Blizzard acquisition from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). As a result, it wasn’t a certainty that Black Ops 6 would make it to Xbox Cloud Gaming. In fact, other major Activision Blizzard King titles, like Diablo 4, have yet to be added to the cloud service.

To access these three Call of Duty games through the cloud, players will need a Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The titles will be playable on a variety of platforms, including consoles, PCs, mobile devices, certain Samsung and Amazon Fire TVs, and Meta Quest devices. Microsoft’s Ashley McKissick, Corporate Vice President of Gaming Experiences & Platforms, highlighted this in a blog post, emphasizing that these options provide more ways for fans to jump into Black Ops 6 from day one.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch on October 25 and be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be the first mainline Call of Duty game to be included in Game Pass on its release day.
